The winter of 2004 is upon us! Here's the snow in southern Monroe County. Most of it is knee deep and travel was impossible for some time. Other areas in Indiana, mostly south and east, had even more snow fall than in this picture.  This picture was taken just two days before Christmas. We really had a white Christmas this year. Check out the other Monroe County pictures in the Gallery . 18 inches of snow Dec 23, 2004

We love all photos of Indiana people, places, and things. You can view our Photo Gallery by clicking on the photos here or view our latest finds by following the links below.

The rolling hills of southern Indiana are a goodBrown County State Park 2004 Click to go to the Brown County Gallery place to carry a camera. Every hill top provides an opportunity to take pictures. This picture was taken in November, 2004 inside Brown County State Park. The park offers many vantage points that have been cleared to give a better view of the beauty of Brown County. This picture was taken at Hesitation Point.

Owen and Putnam Counties offer several Lower Falls at Cataract Falls SRA Click to go to the Cataract Galleryscenic views like this one taken at Cataract Falls SRA. The area boasts two of the largest waterfalls in Indiana. Richard Lieber SRA and Cagles Mill Reservoir, and the quaint village of Cataract, Indiana are nearby. There is an old covered bridge that crosses Mill creek there and in Cataract there is the Old General Store to visit. If you plan to visit this area, be sure to take a camera to record all the wonders to be seen. Take a picnic or have Wayne at the store make you a sandwich and be sure to get a bottle of "pop" from the old "Coke" cooler to sip on while you check out all the goodies in the store.

Sycamore tree in Southern Monroe County Click here to go to the Monroe County Gallery

I found this lone sycamore tree standing next to a small creek in southern Monroe County. It's white bark shined in the sunlight in the fall of 2004.
